Joining the entire world in the efforts to generate prosperity, build a more resilient approach to the global challenges and issues that we’re facing every day, and encourage a harmonious way of living, this year, on the 22nd of March, our school celebrated the 10th edition of World Water Day, which is a day of reflection for all of us, a day when we are reminded about the essential role that water plays in our lives, and encouraged to take action in the attempt to solve the global water crisis.
The global theme of 2024 was ‘Leveraging Water for Peace’, which focused on the critical role water plays in the stability and prosperity of the world. The MTIS students discussed with their teachers the importance of water not only as a resource to be used in our daily activities, but as a human right as well, a vital element that is present in every aspect of life, including our own beings. That is why it requires our constant effort to preserve it; never waste it or pollute it without care.
Besides a delightful and inspiring lesson about cultivating strong and responsible moral values in life, students were encouraged to describe or represent water in any way they felt inspired, and then find ways to improve the quality of life by using the water for peace, thus laying the foundations of a better future.
Every year, World Water Day raises awareness and inspires action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis. Join Mark Twain IS to make a change!
