What an evening we had in the Mark Twain International School community! What a lively and cheerful way to close yet another chapter of learning and growth, whilst setting the way for an exciting new adventure to embark on!
On the 20 th of June, in our Secondary Campus courtyard, Mark Twain International School organized a dazzling and spectacular event to mark the end of the 2023-2024 school year: the 5 th edition of the Glowing Lantern Festival. Hundreds of participants: students, teachers, friends and stakeholders joined this magical outdoor celebration of lights ‘on the green’ with live music, fun and games, a lantern making contest, sports, and lots of other surprises! It was all about bringing the community together, having fun and enjoying each other’s company.
As we also launched the 1 st edition of the World Food Fair, powered by our chefs from the school community (parents, students, faculty and staff), we invited everyone to taste some of their homemade traditional goodies and dishes from around the globe, enjoy our amazing drinks and home-made cocktails, listen to quality live music and dance on the summer waves of joy and happiness.
Whether you were looking up at the beautifully hand-crafted lanterns, designed by the students with the help of our arts department, which were spread out everywhere in decoration, or down at the blooming flower arrangements in the gardens, your eyes would be filled with a vibrant and colourful summer glow. We even had a special guest invited to perform: Joana Rock Band was exactly what we needed to get the party started, energizing us all with a set of spunky and upbeat rock tunes written by the band itself. Last but not least, after all the lanterns were lit up, we had an amazing display of fireworks exploding in the night sky.
We would like to thank everyone for joining us on this wonderful occasion and for celebrating another year at Mark Twain alongside our beloved community! We couldn’t be happier to recreate this magical experience next year and many-many years to come!
