A Visit from one of our USA Partners, “The New Old School of Music”, Connecticut
The beginning of October was marked by a special visit from one of our USA partners, “The New Old School of Music”, CT. Mirela Panaitişor, internationally renowned violinist, founder and head of NOSOM graced us with her presence, bringing a fantastic set of self-crafted music workshops for all our students to enjoy.
What an honor for our school to continue this wonderful partnership, after our successful trip to the states last school year. NOSOM is an institution that hones and shares the same values as we do, for whom quality education represents the cornerstone in creating a brighter future. For that matter, we were more than pleased to welcome Mirela and challenge her to delve into the Mark Twain International School experience, introduce her to our teachers and students and even create the necessary environment for her to engage in musical activities with the PYP and MYP students. As a professional musician and teacher, Mirela Panaitişor held the most spectacular workshops in our Junior Campus, encouraging the students to sing, dance, play and have a great time on the brilliant waves of music, happiness and joy.
Two days after her arrival, respectively on Friday, the 6th of October, our school, along with her magical artistic energy, put together a music concert in the multipurpose hall from the Junior Campus, with students, teachers and staff, all participating, promoting quality education, a well-balanced lifestyle, creativity, and, above all, a never-ending love for the arts. We were enchanted by guitar recitals, piano duets, choral vocal harmonies and a violin melodious artistry representation from Mirela herself. Our school was also pleased to welcome composer Marius Sireteanu, who sat in and enjoyed the performances, as well as his own composition: “Ne luăm nasul la plimbare”, performed by our school choir.
It was a truly marvelous experience, filled with joy and opportunity, with kindness and inspiration, a lesson dedicated to us all about the importance of being ambitious, of being perseverant in the honing process of one’s craft, never giving up on the passions and aspirations that give us purpose in this world, that truly make us feel alive. Success is not about pursuing its final stage, for it resides in the love and determination with which you honor what you do.
