Opening of the first Mark Twain learning division

1 June 1995, International Children’s Day: Anca Vlăsceanu and Dan Macovei open the first Early Learning Division of Mark Twain International School in Bucharest. The original goal of its two founders, that will later become the MTIS mission statement and that continues to be vividly central to the school’s philosophy, is to offer its students high-quality international primary and secondary education in English, by creating a 21st century teaching and learning environment where learners from all walks of life thrive, grow and develop in the spirit of exploration, innovation, achievement, unity in diversity and love for peace.

1995: MTIS students present their first performance at the National Children’s Palace in Bucharest. Ever since, MTIS students have been promoting the arts through annual participation in cultural events and performing arts festivals held in Romania and abroad.
