A Vision Born from a Mother’s Dream
The journey of MTIS began with a mother’s dream. Ms. Anca Macovei Vlasceanu wanted a better education for her daughter and son, one that adhered to international standards. She envisioned a place where children could thrive in a nurturing environment, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an interconnected world. From this vision, MTIS was born, and over the past three decades, it has grown into one of the oldest and most respected private schools in Romania.
A Warm Welcome Back for Our Faculty
This week, our dedicated faculty members returned to our vibrant campuses, preparing fervently for the new academic year launch on Monday, September 9th. The corridors of MTIS are once again alive with the sounds of enthusiasm and the hustle and bustle of preparations. Our new Head of School, Dr. Matthew Wilkens, led the charge with an inspiring kickoff, focusing on the core values and personal missions that drive our educators.
At MTIS, education goes beyond textbooks and exams. We strive to develop each child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and the world outside. With a low student-to-teacher ratio of 1:6, our highly dedicated teaching staff provides personalized attention, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Our emphasis on early artistic and athletic focus helps children discover and nurture their talents from a young age.

Since 2010, MTIS IB Diploma Programme students sit the International Baccalaureate, thus joining the100,000 students in over 125 countries, representing over 205 nationalities, who participate annually in this session of IB examinations, recognized worldwide as being extremely challenging and highly complex. Beyond academics, MTIS offers over 40 co-curricular activities and on-campus tutoring options, ensuring students have ample opportunities to explore their interests and passions. Our career counseling and mentoring programs provide guidance with university applications, setting our students up for future success.
